Where there is great food, you will find Dougie! Food is her best friend. In fact, she stores enough fat to last the year. Her round belly and her short limbs make her look a bit chubby and clumsy.

Dougie only loves to eat and play. She gets impatient when she has to do anything else. Regardless of whether it is homework or housework, she will only show interest if they become games. Because she is careless and impatient though, she frequently makes mistakes. If anyone wants her to do something, they better give her simple tasks that don't take too much thinking. Otherwise, they'll need to take care of the mess she leaves behind.

To shed a few pounds, Dougie once tried to invite everyone on a "Healthy Hike around the Island". Unfortunately, she was the only participant that turned up, so she finished the hike on her own. But tired and hungry, Dougie just wound up eating more food than before! She even created a map of great food around Happy Island. However, she noticed that some of her favorite foods were running low. No matter how tasty that food was, if everyone wanted to keep enjoying it, they had to stop themselves from eating it until it had time to grow back. If they were careful, they could then harvest their favorite foods sustainably and keep enjoying it together. Before, Dougie hated sharing her food with anyone else. Her hike taught her that, "While it's nice to find good food, it's lonely to eat alone." Good food tastes even better if it is shared with good friends. From that day forward, Dougie was determined to always share her food!
